Dependent children are eligible for COBRA as follows:

Employee's employment termination (not due to gross misconduct) or hours reduction | Up to 18 months |
Parent's active military duty | Up to 24 months |
Parent's divorce or legal separation, or COBRA participant becomes Medicare-eligible, or no longer an eligible dependent | Up to 36 months |
If another qualifying event occurs during an 18-month coverage period, the extension can last up to a total of 36 months.
