To be eligible for retiree health coverage under the Plan, the active employee must:
Must have participated in the Plan on the day before the effective date of retirement.
Must have participated in the Plan for four years or more (unless retiring due to a work-related disability).
Must participate in a retirement plan approved by the Mississippi Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS)
Qualify for service retirement under the applicable PERS regulations
Be approved for disability retirement benefits by PERS
Be an elected state or district official who does not run for re-election or who is defeated.
