The following provider services are covered under the MS State & School Employees’ Insurance Plan. This section outlines the various types of medical care and treatments you can receive from providers.
In-hospital medical care: Care provided while you are admitted to a hospital.
Medical care in the provider's office: Visits to a provider's office, your home, or other locations for medical care.
Surgery and assistant at surgery: Surgical procedures and when appropriate, an assistant surgeon, if the provider is practicing within the scope of their license.
Consultations: Professional medical opinions provided by a licensed provider.
Administration of anesthesia: Provision of anesthesia during surgical or other medical procedures.
Radiation therapy: Treatment involving the use of high-energy radiation.
Obstetrical care: Medical care for pregnancy and childbirth.
X-rays and laboratory tests: Diagnostic imaging and lab tests performed in a provider's office, excluding routine exams unless part of the wellness benefit.
Psychiatric and psychological services: Treatments for mental health by licensed professionals.
Allergy testing: Evaluations and tests for allergies.
Covered dental care: Certain dental services that fall under the plan.
Dialysis treatment: Processes that remove waste products and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys stop working properly.
